The Shree Sanatan Dharm Pratinidhi Sabha of Fiji is urging its members and women throughout Fiji to look after their well-being and prioritise cancer screenings.

This was highlighted during the Nari Sabha delegates' meeting at Tavua Primary School, where National President Dhirendra Nand asked the members to get medical examinations for cancer-related sickness.

Nand says it is vital to raise awareness about breast cancer and inform women about the importance of early detection as this will save lives.

National President for Nari Sabha Sushila Ramesh is requesting more engagement and cooperation from the Ministry of Women in terms of collaborations for capacity building for the members.

The Nari Sabha also made donations to the Fiji Cancer Society to support the work they do in saving lives.

Meanwhile, the Fiji Cancer Society highlighted last month that there are 772 new cancer patients that have been registered from January 2023 till June 2024.
