The 3000 strong crowd which attended our sister Hindi stations dance show - Bollywood Dhamaka, were moved when the show was dedicated to Anirudh Diwakar.
Diwakar was one of the most experienced radio broadcasters in the country and was the Programmes Director of CFL’s Hindi speaking station Radio Sargam.
He passed away at the Suva Private Hospital on Thursday night.
Programs Director for Radio Navtarang, Satya Nand who opened the show, informed the crowd that the show was dedicated to Diwakar whose passion was entertainment.
Meanwhile, the Hare Krishna Movement in Fiji will also pay tribute today in their float procession during the Vodafone Fiji Hibiscus Festival.
Movement’s Doctor Rajesh Maharaj said Diwakar had vast knowledge of religion, music and Hindi language which added beauty to his radio shows.
Anirudh Diwakar who had been in the radio industry for over 40 years, passed away on Thursday.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be finalized soon.
