The Cronulla Sharks have broken their seven-game finals losing streak and secured a place in the 2024 preliminary finals after defeating the Cowboys 26-18 at Allianz Stadium.
Despite a strong second half from the Cowboys, where they scored 18 points to pressure the Sharks, Cronulla’s dominant first-half performance was enough to hold on for the win.
Braydon Trindall was instrumental, scoring two tries and setting up two more, helping the Sharks build a commanding 24-0 lead by halftime.
Though the Cowboys nearly mounted a historic comeback, Cronulla's early lead proved decisive.
The Sharks will now prepare to take on Penrith next week to reach the grand final.
