Former Rooster Chicken Fijiana Drua Head Coach Senirusi Seruvakula has been given the task of leading the Fijian Warriors to the World Rugby Pacific Rugby Challenge that will kick off on the 3rd of May in Samoa.
Former Flying Fijians winger Sireli Naqelevuki has also been named to assist Seruvakula.
The duo has put together a strong 28-member squad for the tournament with the inclusion of a few Fijian Drua U20 and development squad players and also some Provincial players with the likes of Enele Malele, Joseva Nasaroa and Jack Volavola.
Seruvakula says they have selected the best available players to represent the Warriors and majority of them have been in the High-Performance system and have performed up to the expectation during the provincial games last season.
Seruvakula has named fly-half Malele to captain the side.
The competition was last played 3 years ago in Fiji and was won by the Junior Japan side.
The Fijian Warriors Squad named are John Muller, Emosi Natubailagi Simi Bulai, Seremaia Komailevuka, Patemo Nuku, Nedly Grant, Viliame Nairau, Joseva Nasaroa, Aisake Atani, Saula Qiolevu, Semi Tokitani, Isoa Tuwai, Motikai Murray, Judah Saumaisue, Ilikimi Torosi, Ebernezer Tuidraki, Taitisu Lulusinu, Jonathan Sovasova, Enele Malele, Ponipate Tuberi, Maika Kamikamica, Ropate Rinakama, Tevita Bukaniyava, Sireli Masiwini, Paul Dolokoto, Jack Volavola, Sikeli Basiyalo and Sireli Masi. Fiji’s first game is against defending champions Junior Japan on the 3rd of next month.
