Senior Police Officer, Mikaele Salele who is charged with alleged unlawful possession of methamphetamine and cocaine, has been granted bail by the Lautoka Magistrates Court.
Salele is granted a non-cash bail of $200 with two sureties and is ordered not to re-offend, not to interfere with the witnesses and not to change his address.
It is alleged that the senior officer was stopped by a team on patrol in Natabua on Tuesday where a search was conducted after he was found acting suspiciously.
He was found with two plastic bags containing white substances that were tested and confirmed as methamphetamine and cocaine.
He is also asked to surrender his passport and other travel documents.
The case has been adjourned to Monday 5th of August.
