Self-respect is one of the key areas that the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua will be looking to focus on as they look to try and keep their hopes alive of securing a quarterfinal spot in this year’s Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific competition.
Coach Mick Byrne says once they do that and respect the gains they have made and how far they have come in a short period, fans will witness a different outcome.
Byrne says it is a challenge for them as they are a young team going into their second year and they respect the opposition but sometimes, the respect carries a bit too much and they need to respect themselves first.
He says they also try and grow their belief each week and that is what they hope to carry into tonight’s clash with table leaders, the Chiefs.
The Fijian Drua will play the Chiefs at 7.05 tonight in Hamilton. In other matches this week, the Rebels take on the Crusaders at 9.35pm tonight, the Blues will take on the Waratahs at 7.05pm tomorrow, while the Western Force will play the Highlanders at 9.35pm tomorrow.
