The Helicopter with 3 person on board including a child was was bound for the Labasa Hospital from Naitauba Island in Lau.
The Divisional Police Commander North SSP Eparama Waqa has activated a search and rescue team following a report received from the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre last night of an overdue helicopter.
The Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre says a Search and Rescue plane has departed out of Nadi to initiate aerial search of last known position of the overdue helicopter.
The Fiji Maritime Surveillance Rescue Coordination Centre has been activated since last night.
They say a second flight team is on standby to deploy.
