A boy, 2 men and a woman are missing at sea after they failed to return from a fishing trip to Yanuca Island last night.

Police say 20-year-old Sainivalati Waqa, 32-year-old Taina Uluilakeba, 18-year-old Jone Qoro, and 12-year-old Aisake Talili went out yesterday afternoon in a 23 feet fiberglass boat with a an engine intact and were due to return in the evening.

They say the villagers have already conducted a search at sea where two boats left this morning and came back during lunchtime with negative results while another search session at sea will take place this afternoon, depending on the weather.

Police are working closely with the villagers in search efforts as the weather at sea is unfavorable at the moment.

Police are also calling on communities along the coastal areas of Lami to Sigatoka to be on the lookout for the missing boat.

They say unfortunately, the four people missing do not have mobile phones with them.

If you have any detail on the missing boat, you can contact the Police Search and Rescue Center at 3318529 or 9905296.
