Search and recovery efforts for missing helicopter to resume today

The search and recovery efforts for the missing helicopter that was on a medical evacuation mission from Naitauba in Lau and was returning to Labasa with 3 people onboard will resume today.

Police had temporarily called off the search last night due to the unfavourable weather condition.

They say officials involved in the recovery efforts have recovered the body of a woman that washed ashore near Navetau Village.

They say a Police officer is liasing with the victim's families to ensure they are informed with the latest progress of the Search and recovery efforts.

Fiji Navy Commander, Humphrey Tawake says search continues for the other people.

An aerial search team consisting of CAAF officials from Nadi and the Fiji Police were also conducting searches from yesterday.

Ground search teams and coastal search parties from the Fiji Police Force, Villagers, RFMF personnel  from Labasa are also on site conducting the search from Korotasere to Saqani.
