Search and Recovery efforts continue for the 2 remaining victims of tragic helicopter crash in Natewa Bay

The search and rescue efforts for the remaining two people in the tragic helicopter crash will continue today, in the Natewa Bay area.

The Divisional Police Commander North SSP Eparama Waqa is overseeing the ground operations with the help of officers from the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, volunteer divers from the Koro Sun Resort, and members of nearby communities.

The Fiji Maritime Safety and Rescue Coordination Center is providing technical support from its base at the Republic of Fiji Navy base in Walu Bay.

The missing helicopter that was on a medical evacuation mission from Naitauba in Lau and was returning to Labasa with 3 people onboard.

They say officials involved in the recovery efforts have recovered the body of a woman that washed ashore near Navetau Village.

They say a Police officer is liasing with the victim's families to ensure they are informed with the latest progress of the Search and recovery efforts.
