Seaplane makes emergency landing in Lautoka

The Civil Aviation Authority of Fiji has confirmed that they are now conducting an investigation to determine what caused the pilot of a DHC2 Beaver aircraft to make a forced landing in a cane field in Saweni, Lautoka today.

It says that Turtle Airways is cooperating with them in their investigations.

The pilot and four passengers travelling in the seaplane this morning escaped serious injuries and were airlifted by a helicopter to Nadi Airport. 

CAAF says that the incident occurred at around 11am as the plane was travelling back from an island resort to Nadi Airport.

They have not disclosed any other details.

Fijivillage also contacted Turtle Airways and they have not responded.
