A Coastal Inundation Alert is now in force for the low-lying coastal areas of Mamanuca Group, Sigatoka to coastal Serua/Namosi, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Beqa, Vatulele, Lau Group and Lomaiviti Group.
This is due to a high pressure system to the far southwest of Fiji that is expected to generate and direct moderate southerly swells over Fiji Waters.
The Nadi Weather Office says moderate southerly swells over Fiji Waters could lead to sea flooding of low-lying coastal areas in the southern parts of Fiji.
Expect sea flooding especially during high tides over low-lying coastal areas of Mamanuca Group, Kadavu and nearby smaller islands, Beqa, Vatulele, Sigatoka to coastal Serua-Namosi, Lau Group and Lomaiviti Group.
