Students of Bau will have an extra week break while the Great Council of Chiefs meeting is held on the chiefly island.

Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu says after discussions with the Ministry of Education, they have finalised that only the school students of Bau will be spending an extra week at home during the meeting.

Vasu says with 500 guests expected, students are expected to remain on the island due to the little space for the movement required during the meeting.

The GCC meeting will be held next Wednesday and Thursday on Bau Island.
