Students of Sawani Primary School can now benefit from the 10 new computers donated by the Bank of the South Pacific.
While handing over the first 10 computers to open the school’s first ever computer center, BSP Country Manager Kevin McCarthy, assured Sawani Primary School teachers that an additional 10 computers will be donated to them.
McCarthy said computer literacy is considered to be a very important skill to possess now not only in the working world but to pursue higher education as well.
He said it has become very important to learn how to use computers from a young age.
Chairman of the Sawani Primary, Brigadier General Mosese Tikoitoga said a lot of efforts have been put into upgrading the school in the last three years and BSP came in at a time when help was needed for an IT setup for the rural school.
Sawani Primary School caters for children from Sawani up to the upper Naitasiri area.
