Savusavu to get new fire station

Residents of Savusavu will soon benefit from a new fire station.

During the ground breaking ceremony for the new Savusavu Fire Station, Minister for Local Government Praveen Bala said Savusavu is a rapidly developing town and one of Fiji’s popular tourist destinations and it is important to enhance the essential services and facilities.

He said the National Fire Authority is being challenged to take its services closer to the communities to ensure the quick and effective delivery of services.

The two million dollars project was funded by government and is expected to be ready by June.

Meanwhile, the Methodist Church of Fiji also provided assistance by granting the approval to NFA to lease their land.
