Sakuisa Saukuru who allegedly murdered a man believed to be in his late 50s in Samabula appeared in the Suva Magistrates Court yesterday.
Saukuru has been charged with one count of murder.
His lawyer asked if Saukuru could attend his relative's funeral the deceased in this matter.
The court granted the application and Sakuru will be escorted to the funeral tomorrow.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear on the 4th of next month for mention.
Police say the victim and the suspect were drinking when an argument broke out which eventually resulted in a fight.
