Former ANZ Fiji and Pacific CEO, Saud Minam has been appointed as the new CEO for Fiji Development Bank.
FDB Board Chairman, Andre Viljeon says Minam’s wide ranging experience in commercial and consumer banking, along with his accomplishment in various roles in Fiji and developed economies made him a successful candidate for the role.
Viljoen says an immediate priority for Minam and FDB will be to continue supporting the Banks 3,753 micro, small, medium enterprise clients through the current COVID-19 pandemic induced challenges.
He says they will focus on growing customer base to bring more micro, small, medium enterprises under their financial portfolio, thereby contributing towards the country’s economic recovery especially in non-urban areas.
Minister for Economy, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum has welcomed Minam’s appointment and says he is an excellent choice given his reputation as a commercial banker and his knowledge of the Fijian market.
He says FDB will greatly benefit from his strong leadership and deep engagement approach with its current and new customers to develop various economic segment.
Minam replaces Mark Clough in this role.
