Residents from 10 miles, Sasawira and Waidamudamu, conducted a clean-up campaign to bring positive changes in their environment.
Sasawira and Waidamudamu Advisory Councilor Ugra Sen says the clean up was a success with the involvement of adults and the youth movement.
Sen says they were able to get rid of household waste, plastics, cans and some other rubbish from the settlement.
They also cut grass and cleaned drains to destroy the breeding ground of mosquitoes.
He further says other communities should also create a small group and carry out activities that enhance community spirit and create a safe and clean environment around us.
Sen adds communities should not depend on ministries or respective councils to assist on such issues.
