Swire Shipping Fijian Drua flanker Kitione Salawa has been voted the fijivillage Player of The Match for round 9 of the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific match against the Hurricanes last Friday.
There were a total of 212 votes with Salawa collecting 122 votes, captain Tevita Ikanivere collecting 66 votes and winger Epeli Momo gaining 24 votes.
In the game against the Hurricanes, Salawa ran a total of 73 metres in 14 carries, beat 5 defenders and scored 1 try.
The 22-year-old also had 2 line breaks, won 1 turnover and completed 7 tackles in the match.
Salawa and the Drua will take on Moana Pasifika at 2.05pm Saturday in Lautoka in round 10 of the competition.
In other matches this week, the Crusaders will host the Rebels at 7.05pm Friday, the Waratahs will play the Chiefs at 9.35pm Friday, the Brumbies will take on the Hurricanes at 4.35pm Saturday, the Highlanders will play the Force at 7.05pm Saturday and the Reds will take on the Blues at 9.35pm Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Rooster Chicken Fijian Drua Women will take on the Waratahs in the final of the Super Rugby Women’s Competition at 4pm this Sunday in Brisbane.
