Minister for Women, Children, and Poverty Alleviation, Lynda Tabuya, received a courtesy visit from SPC’s team at their headquarters in Suva.
The Minister was accompanied by the Assistant Minister Sashi Kiran, the Permanent Secretary Ashwin Raj and the Director of Women, Selai Korovusere.
The SPC delegation that was present during the visit included SPC's HRSD Director Miles Young, former Minister for Women, Mereseini Rakuita, SPC's Principal Strategic Lead—Pacific Women and Girls, Tara Chetty, and Team Leader Governance and Institutional Strengthening, Neomai Maravuakula,.
The Ministry says positive discussion took place in the meeting, and it focused on the opportunities to work closely with SPC to deliver the ministry's mandate.
The Ministry and SPC concluded the meeting with an agreement to work together on several initiatives and committed to continuing dialogue to identify additional activities on which to collaborate.
Tabuya says she looks forward to working closely with the organization on several initiatives in the future and acknowledges the work done by SPC.
