Supervisor of Elections, Mohammed Saneem has this morning rejected nominations from the two proposed independent candidates for the December 2022 general elections that had been filed earlier this week.
Saneem says the nominations have been rejected on the basis that they fail to meet the minimum requirements as stipulated in Section 27 of the Electoral Act.
We are currently trying to get the specific requirements.
Meanwhile the Fijian Elections Office will have a press conference this afternoon to announce the final voter numbers for the 2022 general elections.
