The SODELPA Management Board will decide today on who SODELPA will form the coalition government with as parliament is expected to be convened tomorrow.

fijivillage News has received confirmation from SODELPA General Secretary, Lenaitasi Duru that the management board will meet at 2pm today.

They have also decided that after the 42 management board members are briefed by the negotiation team on the offer by the People’s Alliance and FijiFirst Party, the teams from the two parties will be given 30 minutes each to make their presentations to the board.

The People’s Alliance will make their presentation at 2.30pm today while FijiFirst Party will present at 3pm today.

Following this, the management board will take a vote on who SODELPA should go with.

A written directive from the party will then be given to the three SODELPA MPs, Viliame Gavoka, Aseri Radrodro and Ifereimi Vasu to follow the party’s decision and vote for the chosen party in parliament.

This will be legally binding.

If someone does not vote along the party lines, then according to the 2013 Fijian Constitution, they will lose their parliamentary seat.
