SODELPA is pleased that the government has announced a million-dollar reward package for the accomplishments of our Fiji Men’s 7s team and the Fijiana 7s team at the Tokyo Olympics.

SODELPA Leader Viliame Gavoka says the party had moved a motion in Parliament to reward both teams and even though it was defeated, they are pleased that government came around to the idea.

Gavoka says they are proud of the achievement of the men’s and women’s 7s teams and the reward package is deserving.

He says both teams were at their finest on the global stage for which we are all proud.

SODELPA has also acknowledged other Olympians such as Banuve Tabakaucoro, Cheyenne Rova, Tevita Takayawa, Sophia Morgan, Taichi Vakasama and Sally Yee.

Gavoka says we should not forget their families and coaching staff for their sacrifice and the people of Fiji for rallying behind them.
