SODELPA candidate Salote Radrodro

The Government is stopping us from speaking in a language that is easy for the people to understand.

These were the words of SODELPA candidate Salote Radrodro in a campaign meeting in Nayavu-loulou Community Hall in Tacirua last night.

Radrodro says that when they were in parliament, they were bound by the law not to speak in iTaukei but she believes that some of the citizens only have a certain understanding of the English language.

She also stated that the opposition had asked if people could speak their own languages and that there could be translations given but this motion was defeated.

Radrodro says that the government should offer their services for the people as the citizens were the ones that voted for them.

She says that it is important for the citizens to understand what parliament is discussing.

She also urged people to be mindful of who they vote for as this concerns not only their future but also the lives of future generations.
