The Works Ministry will carry out a number of major upgrading of roads, providing electricity and water provision to the people in the rural areas.
This has been confirmed by Works Ministry spokesperson Sainiana Waqainabete.
She said in the past people in the rural areas have been deprived of proper infrastructure and this government is committed towards providing better facilities to them.
Waqainabete added they will carry out some major upgrading works in Labasa, Tailevu and the Nadroga areas.
She said they have also noted that some people who migrated to urban centers returned to their villages once proper road, electricity and piped water was supplied to them.
