Fiji First General Secretary and Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed‑Khaiyum has reiterated that rumors of a coup on November 15th are not true, China has not taken over Fiji and Kadavu has not been sold to China.
While speaking at the FijiFirst Family Fun Day in Labasa, Sayed‑Khaiyum says that talks are going around, a lot of political parties are going around making all sorts of promises, threats and putting all sorts of fear in people's minds.
Sayed‑Khaiyum says that there is a lot of fear mongering in politics right from independence and even before that. He says it has all been about ethnic and religious divisions and all of these issues are now taken care of in the 2013 constitution..
Sayed‑Khaiyum has also stressed that Fiji’s economy has been growing well for the past nine years and it is going to grow for another 3‑5 years.
He has urged people in Labasa that from a commercial perspective not to break that path and not to stop the economic and financial progress of the country adding that what other people want to do is win government at any cost.
