Rugby Australia plans to entirely change its eligibility criteria to allow their best players to be chosen no matter where they are playing.
They plan to scrap the contentious ‘Giteau Law’ criteria.
The Giteau Law currently allows overseas-based players to be eligible for Wallabies selection if they have played in more than 60 tests and spent seven seasons in Australia.
This law was introduced ahead of the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
Rugby Australia CEO Andy Marinos says the governing body plans to radically overhaul the eligibility criteria.
Marinos add it will bring a lot more experience and more depth in their squad.
The Wallabies have lost twice to the All Blacks at this year's Bledisloe series, losing 57-22 last Saturday and 33-25 the week before.
The Wallabies will meet the All Blacks next Saturday in a dead rubber third Bledisloe Cup test.
