Former Fiji Airways National 7s halfback Taniela Yaya played a key role in helping 2025 Fiji Bitter Series champions, Viti Roofing Devo Babas, book their spot in the 2025 NiuPower KMHL Sports Tok Rugby 7s final after thrashing the 15 City Pirates 29-5 in Papua New Guinea.
The Babas led 14-5 at halftime and came out firing in the second half, running in three more tries to seal the dominant win.
Rere scored the opening try in the quarter-final, added conversions and helped our local team during the semifinal.
They are representing Fiji at the tournament after being approached by the Fiji Rugby Union and receiving an official invitation to compete.
The event is part of Papua New Guinea’s 50th Independence Anniversary celebrations in Port Moresby.
Devo Babas will be facing Mantas 7s team in the final later tonight.
