Crusaders coach Scott Robertson believes Ethan Blackadder’s new-found versatility offers him the chance to push for higher honours.

Blackadder copped an elbow in the head against the Reds but he has since passed the first stage of his head injury assessment tests.

Robertson is hopeful Ethan Blackadder will pass all his concussions protocols this week.

He says the 26-year-old flanker would still have to go through a full week of protocols before being considered to play the Waratahs on Saturday.

Robertson adds Blackadder gets their hardest worker award every week.

The Crusaders will meet the Waratahs at 5.05pm Saturday.

In other matches, the Hurricanes will face the Western Force at 7.05pm Friday, the Blues will play the Brumbies at 7.15pm Saturday, the Reds will host the Chiefs at 9.45pm Saturday and the Highlanders will take on the Rebels at 2.35pm Sunday.
