The Fiji Roads Authority is advising drivers to plan their travel and expect delays on Ratu Mara Road as there will be road closures and detours from 12pm today.

FRA says only Cunningham commuters including bus services will be allowed to enter Kings Road.

People travelling to Suva will be detoured through Ratu Dovi Road and then to Nokonoko Road, and those travelling to Nausori will detour through Jerusalem Road, Nokonoko Road, then to Ratu Dovi Road and then back to the Main Kings Road.

A temporary bus bay will be set up 15 metres from the lights at Ratu Dovi intersection.

This traffic situation is caused by a sinkhole that opened up at the Ratu Mara Road and Cunningham Junction yesterday.

A burst Water Authority of Fiji sewerage pipe caused the sinkhole.

FRA CEO Kamal Prasad says repair works are expected to finish by Monday night
