Road access issues for nine villages in the districts of Kiuva, Buretu and Nakelo in Tailevu is now an issue of the past as the five kilometers upgrading work at the Kiuva Road are now completed.
Muanaira village headman Tevita Salasalavonu says that he is grateful to Fulton Hogan Hiways for the road construction works as road access was one main issue his people faced in the past.
Much attention was given to its drainage work so that water would run off the road surface to the drainage system alongside the road to avoid flooding.
The work carried out by Fulton Hogan Hiways (FHH) is part of the periodic road maintenance program to provide access to people in the Central, Northern and Eastern divisions.
The work included pre-drainage work, pre-shaping of the sub-grade, placing of crushed aggregate and final shaping and compaction.
