Richard Naidu will take his plea this Thursday in the matter where the committal proceedings has been brought against him by Attorney General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
Naidu allegedly posted on his Facebook page a picture of a judgement in a case represented by his associate that had the word 'injunction' misspelt, and then made some comments that he was pretty sure the applicant wanted an injunction.
Naidu's lawyer, Jon Apted says he will have to take instructions in the matter from his client however High Court Judge, Justice Jude Nanayakkara says he has only two options which are either to give his plea through an affidavit or orally.
Apted also told the court that they reserve the right to once again appeal against the stay ruling and cross-examine the Attorney-General, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.
The Attorney-General’s lawyer, Devanesh Sharma says a plea should be taken.
Meanwhile, the court will also hear this Thursday the matter where the Fiji Law Society has applied for Queen's Counsel Laura O'Gorman from New Zealand to represent the society to appear in court by video link.
The other application is for the Law Society to join the proceedings as an intervener.
Sharma says they will be making oral submissions in the matter.
