There will be a comprehensive review of the 54-year-old Audit Act.
Cabinet says the review is intended to modernise the Act which was first enacted as a colonial ordinance in 1969.
The review will ensure that the Office of the Auditor General is able to carry out its functions in line with international standards and best practices.
The review will be carried out by the Ministry of Finance and the Office of the Auditor General.
