The National Disaster Management Office is advising the public that due to the serious threat of flooding in Nadi a restriction of movement has been placed on Nadi Town for security and safety reasons.
The Nadi River continues to rise rapidly and pocket areas of low lying areas have begun flooding.
Further flooding is expected during high tide at 11.45pm.
People who are living near the Nadi River are urged to move to higher ground or nearest evacuation centre.
Police and emergency operation officials are on the ground to ensure people evacuate to safety.
