Some resorts in the country have started providing tourists with Yoga classes to ensure that they not only enjoy their stay in Fiji but also keep fit physically and mentally.
One such resort is the Daku Resort in Savusavu which has opened its custom built yoga shala or covered platform with space for up to 24 people at a time.
The Daku resort, just outside the town of Savusavu has added yoga to its annual list of week long “Paradise Courses” among other activities.
Resort Manager Raj Prasad said that they decided to come up with the idea of conducting yoga classes for the tourists as not many hotels and resorts were doing so and it is a great way of attracting more tourists to the resort.
Prasad said that last year a professional yoga trainer from America, Mike Whitewill provided Yoga classes to 15 tourists while this year the courses will start in May and they expect about 14 groups from around the world to do Yoga at the resort.
