Hundreds of residents of Waidamudamu settlement at 10 miles in Nausori are pleading with the Ministry of Local Government to take quick action as their road is in a deplorable state.
Residents of Waidamudamu settlement say the Ministry of Local Government’s contractor had spread soft stones on their road a few weeks ago and continuous rain from last weekend has made their road very soggy.
Residents have told us that parts of this road are in a swamp like condition which is making it really hard for students to go to the main road and access for vehicles are also very limited as they get stuck in these conditions.
They say that urgent action is needed and the contractor needs to remove the soggy layer immediately.
We have sent questions and photos to the Local Government Minister, Parveen Bala and a response is expected soon.
