The Naitaisiri District Advisory Councillor is now advising people residing in low lying areas in Sawani to move to high grounds as the water level in Waimanu river is rising.

Mahendra Prasad Chaudhry is requesting people to move their livestock to high grounds.

Chaudhry says due to the blockage of drains, flood waters have come on the road and reached the floors of some of the houses.
