Residents of Nanuku and Veidogo settlements to be relocated in the next 9-12 months - AG

About 300 families of Nanuku and Veidogo settlements in Vatuwaqa will be relocated to a piece of land in Makoi in the next 9 to 12 months.

Attorney General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz sayed Khaiyum has made the announcement.

Vinod Bhindi of the Bhindi Brothers Limited is the landowner.

Sayed-Khaiyum also announced that the owner of the land will also be giving $1,000 each to these families for relocation.

Sayed-Khaiyum says that this project will cost Bhindi Brothers Limited approximately $12 million.

He says these people will also be able to make use of the first home owners scheme.
