Good news for the residents of Nanuku Settlement in Vatuwaqa as they will be relocated soon and given residential land leases for 99 years.
This was announced by the FijiFirst General Secretary Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum when a Nanuku resident asked for an update in a campaign meeting at Samabula Primary School last night.
Sayed-Khaiyum says the developers will be coming in the next few days.
He says that the land is a freehold land.
Sayed-Khaiyum says Bhindi Brothers Limited who is the landowner has agreed to re-settle everybody in Nanuku and give 99 year lease.
He says that Bhindi Brothers Limited will also give $1,000 to each family for resettlement.
Sayed-Khaiyum had earlier met the people of Nanuku and had assured them that they will be relocated to a site in Makoi.
