Five reports of fake notes have been lodged with Police within the Central, Southern and Eastern Division during the past week.
Police say the first report was received at the Totogo Police Station whereby a 60-year-old shop owner received a fake $50 note from an unknown person with the serial number FFC9413078.
They say another fake note with the same serial number was produced at a BBQ Stall in Nakasi and again a few days later at a supermarket in Raiwaqa.
Police adds the latest report was received on Monday at the Nasinu Police Station from a 37-year-old self‑employed man who was depositing money into his account at a Bank located in Nakasi when the teller discovered a fake $50 note with serial number FFC4984851.
No arrests have been made and anyone with information that could assist Police investigations is requested to call Crime Stoppers on 919.
