Repair works are currently underway on the Hibiscus Highway from Savusavu towards Natuvu as there were some delays in follow-up maintenance.
FijiFirst MP Alvick Maharaj had said in Parliament yesterday that the highway is about to be turned to gravel and has a tremendous amount of potholes.
Minister for Works, Ro Filipe Tuisawau then raised a point of order and had said that work is being done on the road.
While responding to questions by fijivillage News, Ro Filipe says the team has already engaged the contractors and he has been told that they are already working on rectifying it.
Ro Filipe says there have been delays in the follow-up maintenance because there have been issues with various layers of contracting.
He says he hopes to visit the area soon.
