Nagado Treatment Plant

Water Authority of Fiji has confirmed that the repair works to the leaking Vanessa Valve at the Nagado Treatment Plant was completed at 4am this morning.

Board Director Kamal Gounder says it will take around two to three days for the reservoirs to be refilled to fully restore the system.

Schools have already received water in their back up tanks.

Gounder has highlighted that reports have surfaced regarding the damaging of some water tanks by the public that were placed in strategic locations in the affected areas.

The areas reported are in Waiyavi in Lautoka, Bulileka, Kaunitoni and the junction of Sukunivalu.

Gounder says they have reported the matter to Fiji Police Force and are working closely with them in monitoring the situation.
