Fiji born Sevu Reece scored a try for the Crusaders as the defending champions retained the Super Rugby Aotearoa title in a 24-13 victory over the Chiefs in the final.
Reece scored the first points of the final through a lineout won by Sam Whitelock in the first 7 minutes of the match.
The ball went to the forwards who burst towards the goal post and when the ball emerged, it moved quickly to Reece who dived towards the score line.
Reece was also shown a yellow card for a hit on Chase Tiatia which video official insist was direct to the head leaving the Crusaders with 13 players on the field.
The other yellow carded player was Codie Taylor.
The other try for the Crusaders came from Will Jordan.
Chiefs fullback Damian McKenzie lived up to his hero status scoring all the 13 points for the visitors.
The Crusaders have now won 24 knockout, playoff or final home matches which is a perfect record for the defending champions.
