Fiji-born Sevu Reece says he will be proving his former club wrong for not being recognised when the Crusaders take on the Chiefs in Super Rugby Aotearoa this Saturday.

Reece says whenever he is in Hamilton, he always has something to prove and this what motivates him to be the best in what he does.

He says it is frustrating going back to where he started and where he was not recognised for his talents.

Two years ago, Reece's aspirations were simple where he just wanted to play for the Chiefs and everything changed when he pleaded guilty to domestic violence charges and was discharged without conviction.

The Chiefs also passed on him, but he found his way into the Crusaders squad as an injury replacement for Israel Dagg and converted that opportunity into an All Black jersey at last year's Rugby World Cup.

The Crusaders will take on the Chiefs at 7.05 pm Saturday while the Blues will face the Highlanders at 3.35 pm Sunday.
