The real estate and the retail sectors are undergoing significant transformations with key investments from various companies which will not only contribute to the expansion and modernisation of retail infrastructure but will also enhance the overall shopping experience and economic growth.
Investment Fiji CEO Kamal Chetty says the Nausori Plaza project by Ding Jing Real Estate Development Pte Limited is nearing completion and is expected to be officially opened soon.
He says Charan Katonivere Holdings Ltd is also developing a $10 million shopping mall in Nakasi which will not only enhance the retail landscape but also stimulate economic activity, fostering a flourishing environment.
He says additionally, construction of a new McDonald's Restaurant in Nakasi and the establishment of a distribution centre in Lautoka will create a lasting impact.
These projects are worth $30 million collectively.
Chetty says the company is diversifying by developing the $16 million Vuvale Plaza, which will include a shopping mall, office spaces, and additional restaurants.
The CEO says WG Friendship Plaza by the WG International Real Estate Co. (Fiji) Limited is also currently undergoing construction and Carpenters Tower office block is also taking shape in Suva.
He says Western Home Limited is developing $12 million six-storey high-end apartments in Suva.
Chetty also says Sun Insurance is developing a $100 million 7-storey building in Nadi which includes office spaces, a car park, and restaurants, providing a mix of retail and commercial services.
The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
He says additional developments include the acquisition of land by BSP Life for the construction of a shopping mall in Nadi, currently undergoing the design and conceptualization stages.
The CEO says the FHL Tower, an innovative 18-story "green building," is also in progress while in Nausori, the Shop & Save shopping mall, coupled with a hotel, is expected for completion in 2025.
Chetty also confirmed that construction is set to begin this year on the $25 million Amras Shopping Mall in Lakena.
