Swire Shipping Fijian Drua winger, Selestino Ravutaumada and two-time Olympic gold medallist, Jerry Tuwai have made their way into the Fiji Men’s 7s travelling squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics.
24-year-old Ravutaumada joined the Fiji 7s training squad straight after the Shop N Save Super Rugby Pacific season and did not disappoint as he impressed coach Osea Kolinisau when they played Australia last week in four scrimmaging sessions.
He has been named alongside his Fijian Drua teammate Iosefo Masi, who will be making his second Olympics appearance for Fiji.
34-year-old Tuwai will be looking to be the first Fijian to win 3 Olympic gold medals.
The final 15-member Fiji Men’s 7s squad includes Jerry Tuwai, Ponipate Loganimasi, Joseva Talacolo, Kaminieli Rasaku, Joji Nasova, Filipe Sauturaga, Terio Tamani, Waisea Nacuqu, Jeremaia Matana, Iosefo Masi, Sevuloni Mocenacagi, Josaia Raisuqe, Selestino Ravutaumada, Iowane Teba and Vuiviawa Naduvalo.
Fiji is in Pool C alongside hosts France, USA and Uruguay.
The Olympics Men’s 7s tournament will be held from the 25th to the 28st of next month.
