Iliseva Ravonu of Saint Joseph’s Secondary School who won gold in the Senior Girls Javelin at the Suva Zone II has dedicated her win to her mother who passed away one year ago.

Ravonu says it was an honour to be part of the team for Suva Zone II in her final year in high school.

She says there was a lot of pressure but everyone gave their all in training.

Ravonu says every throw she made was for her mother and it was emotional for her to compete without her mother there cheering for her.

Suva Grammar School won the Boys Division at Suva Zone II with 23 gold, 25 silver and 11 bronze medals.

Marist Brothers High School finished in second place with 20 gold, 19 silver and 24 bronze while Lomary Secondary School finished in third place with 3 gold and 7 bronze.

In the Girls Division, Suva Grammar School collected 23 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze to finish in first place.

Saint Joseph’s Secondary School settled for second place with 21 gold, 21 silver and 10 bronze while Lomary Secondary School was in third place with 6 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze.
