A Brisbane based rapper with links to Fiji is bringing smiles to the unfortunate through charity.

Born in New Zealand, Sam Ratumaitavuki known as "Fortafy" said his father is from Moturiki, Lomaiviti while his mother is from Wales.

Ratumaitavuki said he performed in Nadi and Suva over the weekend and has raised over a $1000.

He said he is currently in Nadi to visit orphanages, affected students and villagers.

Ratumaitavuki who has performed with artists such as Scribe said that he is also here to learn more about his roots.

Ratumaitavuki also has his eye on making it big in the US hip hop scene.
