26-year-old former security officer, Manasa Ratuloaloa who was found guilty of raping, sexually assaulting and abducting a 12-year-old girl has been sentenced to 14 years imprisonment.

The girl was on her way to school on 25th January last year at around 7.30 am when Ratuloaloa lured her to get into his car to drop her at school in Nausori.

While delivering the sentence High Court Judge, Justice Thushara Rajasinghe says Ratuloaloa locked her in the car, punched her on the thigh and when she managed to get out of the vehicle, he tried to run over her.
