Ratu Meli Bainimarama laid to rest today

Former senior civil servant Ratu Meli Bainimarama has finally been laid to rest today.

Ratu Meli was the former Permanent Secretary in some government ministries including the Ministry of Labour and Industrial Relations, Ministry of Transport, Civil Aviation, Fijian Affairs, Provincial Development, Multi Ethnic Affairs, and Fisheries and Forests.

He also served as the Advisor for Fijian Affairs, the Secretary to the Great Council of Chiefs and on numerous boards and committees.

The 70-year-old was the High Commissioner to Malaysia when he passed away this week.

Ratu Meli Bainimarama is survived by his wife Sereani and his 6 children.
